Balducci Vineyards- Augusta, Missouri

Things to do in Missouri!

When traveling abroad, it is easy to forget about the treasures in my state. Every Friday, I highlight places, events, and restaurants in my home state- Missouri. Today is all about Balducci Vineyards in Augusta, Missouri.

Balducci Vineyards

Balducci Vineyards is one of the best wineries in Missouri. Balducci has everything that you would expect from a winery- vineyards, wine tasting, great food, and good music. For the past 14 years, Balducci has received the Missouri reader’s choice award for the best winery.

The winery is owned by Rick & Carol Balducci. They bought the land in Augusta from Rick’s cousin in 1987. They initially grew grapes and provided the grapes to local winemakers, and they opened the family winery in 2001. Rick is Italian and uses Balducci as a way to pay homage to his Italian lineage.

Wine
Balducci produced their wine from grapes grown in the vineyard. They offer dry, semi-sweet, dry red, fortified, and sweet wine. My favorite is the sweetest white wine that they offer- Dolce. The price for wine tasting is $5, but that is subject to change anytime.

Food
Balducci’s offers a wide variety of Italian dining. They have everything from appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and pizza. My favorite has always been their barbecue pizza. The prices are very reasonable. On my last visit to Balducci’s, I had a burger and fries, and my friend had a salad.

Entertainment
There is usually a live band playing every weekend. The music is typically a mix of jazz, rock, and pop. I have never seen a band there that I did not like.

The Experience
Overall, Balducci offers a relaxing and enjoyable experience. There is plenty of seating available and something there for everyone to enjoy.
